About My Practice

Embrace NeurodiversOT started as a school assignment in my post-professional occupational therapy doctoral program when my personal life, school life, and work life collided and led me down a path of researching the mental health of neurodivergent individuals with a focus on autism. Specifically, I became interested in how the use of the medical model in our modern day healthcare system negatively impacts the provision of services to disabled individuals, including those that fall under the umbrella of neurodivergent (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, OCD, tic disorders, HSP, Bipolar Disorder, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, and so on).

At Embrace NeurodiversOT, therapy services are guided by the social model of disability and its importance in providing ethical and effective occupational therapy services to the disabled population. Through meaningful therapeutic relationships, I focus on working with my clients to adapt and modify their occupations to best fit their needs. At the same time, clients are trained in the use of strategies to process difficult emotions and life situations that impact their mental health and occupational performance, both acutely and chronically. Most importantly, I teach my clients to empower themselves through self-advocacy in all aspects of their life.

My Professional Journey

My professional journey has been a fulfilling adventure, allowing me to gather valuable experiences and insights. Each step has contributed to my growth as an occupational therapist, and I am excited to utilize this knowledge to support neurodivergent individuals in their journey towards a better life.
